The Jaker

Mostly rational politics, with occasional rants about how a few crazy Republicans are ruining the country.

Soldiers on the war
These are the pieces about the war I value most - those written by soldiers. They always just seems so much more relevant than any other war stories in newspapers or magazines.

And I think this is a good one, not only because I agree with it, but it's also very thoughtful and well-written.

In the end, we need to recognize that our presence may have released Iraqis from the grip of a tyrant, but that it has also robbed them of their self-respect. They will soon realize that the best way to regain dignity is to call us what we are — an army of occupation — and force our withdrawal.
